things seen and imagined at Ontario Place

“things seen and imagined at Ontario Place” is an augmented reality project created by artists Katika Marczell and Dan Tapper.

The project was created during COVID lockdowns when access to community and public space was challenging. Walks to the Lakeshore often ended up at Ontario Place and we began to collect ideas and imagine the space as an interactive canvas.

This project brings together a variety of mediums (animation, sculpture, photogrammetry, analogue and digital drawing) sharing our imaginings as well as things seen and heard during this time.

As this art project was coming to an end, Ontario Place was boarded off. The background of the home page of this website documents the wall that was put up to prevent the public from accessing the space.
